100th Blog by Honest Nonsense, Trump and Nike

While watching the first NFL game of the year, the new Nike commercial ran that had Colin Kaepernick as narrator and the face of their 30th anniversary celebration. The message was rather benign, to the point that I don’t really remember what Kaepernick said. Having said that, Nike’s decision has bothered our man-baby president Donald Trump. Voting for Donald Trump because of political correctness I always though was ridiculous, and this new aspect in the war against opinionated black people.

“I don’t think it’s appropriate what they did,” Trump said in an interview with Fox & Friends. “I honor the flag. I honor our national anthem, and most of the people in this country feel the same way.” Trump like many, have completely distorted-silenced, and ignored why Kapernick was kneeling in the first place. Furthermore, you can’t be against political correctness, to then turnaround and ask someone to act like someone who has been indoctrinated.

The interview was recorded on Thursday, and aired Friday morning. That same Friday morning Trump tweeted “What was Nike thinking?”

People on Twitter decided to help Trump out and let him know why Nike did that, and here are some tweets:

What Nike is thinking is none of your big fat government business.

In America Nike can freely think what they want to and without a tin horn dictator bullying their customers.

They were thinking that they wanted to be on the right side of history, unlike you.

The opposite of racism

They were thinking, period. You should try it sometime.

What were you thinking when you called neo-nazis “very fine people”?

It should be noted that Nike makes its products in sweatshops, where the workers make Nike's shit. Nike made a business decision, because guess what Republicans? Young people like Colin Kaepernick, or at least could care less whether Kaepernick knelt or stood for the national anthem.

If you're going to be mad at Nike, be mad at them for their sweatshops. Not for using Colin Kaepernick for their own profits. One decision negatively impacts people and their environment. The other one harms your PC feelings.
