Ben Shapiro's response to Trump's racist Omar tweet is on brand for Shapiro

My last two blogs have been about Donald Trump's racist tweet in which he posted a video that cut from Congresswoman Ilhan Omar giving a speech, and video of the terror attack on the Twin Towers.

The first blog was about the fact Trump's tweet is inciting violence within a context in which Rep. Omar has already received death threats, and has been called a terrorist.

The second blog was about the different responses by various Democratic politicians, including Senator Kirsten Gillibrand's tweet which practically legitimized Trump point in which he implied that Ilhan Omar played down 9/11.

Ben Shapiro's tweet on the subject was about as Ben Shapiro as he could get:

His tweet is factually wrong. Ilhan Omar is receiving death threats due to Trump's tweet, and has received death threats before his tweet, so that point he makes that Trump's tweet isn't inciting violence.

Ilhan Omar's "it's about the Benjamin's" tweet, call it anti-Semitic if you want, but no one could honestly argue that tweet, or any of her tweets about Israel, are anything close to Donald Trump's tweet.

But Ben Shapiro is not going to discuss this subject in an honest manner, or rather, he will speak honestly in what he believes, the problem with his views is that it's coming from someone who is a racist.

Numerous times Ben Shapiro has expressed his Islamaphobic views numerous times on Twitter.

Ben Shapiro has said that Islam is at war with the West, which is clearly racist, but it's also wrong. The United States has multiple allies where the main religion is Islam. I have yet to hear a single foreign policy expert express the idea that Malaysia is a threat to the United States.

Furthermore, United States troops have fought alongside Muslims, and our Kurdish allies have been fighting ISIS soldiers. Kurdish fighters have been giving their life to fight Islamic extremists that the United States played a major role in helping create.

He once tweeted that, "Israelis like to build. Arabs like to bomb crap and live in open sewage."

Palestinians live in open sewage because they are the oppressed in an Apartheid state, as Shapiro hash tagged: Settlements rock.

Additionally, there are Jews in Israel who have homes and businesses that were built by Palestinians, and where those Palestinians lived and worked until of the founding of Israel by Zionists.

Ben Shapiro and his supporters cannot say Shapiro is not racist, for he doesn't just say negative things about Islam, but instead said that all Arabs are not only the same, they're also terrorists.

Aside from his comments on Muslims and Arabs, Ben Shapiro has said racist things about black people.

For example, he had the audacity to say this about Trayvon Martin who was shot to death by a guy playing cop:

So, therefore, Shapiro's tweet about Trump and Ilhan Omar is on brand for Shapiro is himself a bigot, and so it makes sense that he would play down an attack on Rep. Omar.

As Benjamin Dixon of The North Star noted, Shapiro criticizing someone for saying something bigoted is an act of irony and hypocrisy:

At the end of the day, Shapiro has said things far worse than Ilhan Omar has ever said, so when the subject of bigotry comes up, Shapiro's view should be worth nothing. Unfortunately, America is full millions of stupid people, and this allows for people like Shapiro to be taken seriously as a political, social, or cultural commentator.
