A recent CNN article uncovers that an interview with CBS news Dan Rather in 1999, reveals that some of the things Trump said in the interview that he used in the campaign trail.
In the 1999 interview, he said he was thinking about running for president, in which he said “I’d be prepared to spend $100 million on the race if necessary.”
On financing his presidential campaign for 2016, he said “I will have over $100 million in the campaign, and I’m prepared to go much more than that.”
Goddamn, how is it that I forgot that our president is terrible at the one language that he uses. It’s “to go much higher than that,” or “to use much more than that.” Jesus, this man. Listen, I’ll have my spelling errors, I’ll miss punctuations, but just simple speaking, I can do that.
Spending and receiving money for the campaign wasn’t the only thing that the 1999 interview, and his presidential run had in common.
In 1999, Trump said of John McCain, “Does being captured make you a hero? I don’t know, I’m not sure.”
In 2015, Trump said “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
Not only is Donald Trump an asshole, but he’s an asshole who seems incapable of coming up with new material. Furthermore, the fact that he’s able to get supporters on the subject of NFL football players kneeling during the National Anthem, is as mystifying, as it is terrifying. It also highlights their racism, and their in-human ability to understand the inherent struggle of being black in America, since its founding.
Furthermore, they’re believing in a man who has followed a recent line of men becoming president who avoided military service during the Vietnam War. Trump said he bone spurs in his feet, but he never mentioned which foot. On top of that, Trump’s National Security Advisor John Bolton, too was an avoider of military service during the Vietnam War.
In 1995, John Bolton said “I confess I had no desire to die in a Southeast Asian rice paddy… I considered the war in Vietnam already lost.” That’s the excuse given by someone with the privilege to avoid going to war by going to college. African Americans through the oppression they suffered at home could see the absurdity of a war in Vietnam, but they weren’t given a choice, they were the majority of those drafted. Bolton should look at his excuse on Vietnam, and apply to moderate American foreign policy. John Bolton supports Trump’s position of increased sanctions on Iran, because it worked against Cuba, and Iraq. Oh wait, it didn’t. Sanctions in Iraq only worked once we invaded the country. Bolton claims the Irans sanctions aren't a precursor to regime change, because it is “Not the administration policy.” Ya right, buddy. John Bolton was paid to give a speech for an Iranian cult called MEK. Regime Change coincides with MEK's ideology.
Trump continues using other words and sayings over and over again, that CNN did not mention. Though they are most recent than 1999-2016.
During a presidential debate against Hillary Clinton, talking about Russian meddling in our elections he said:
I don't think anybody knows it was Russia that broke into the DNC. She’s saying Russia, Russia, Russia, but I don’t — maybe it was. I mean, it could be Russia, but it could also be China. It could also be lots of other people. It also could be somebody sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, OK? You don’t know who broke into DNC.
In November of 2017, at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam, Trump met Putin, where they talked multiple times during the event. According to Trump, he asked Putin multiple times about the meddling in U.S. elections. Afterwards, while on Air Force One, he told reporters:
He said he didn’t meddle. He said he didn’t meddle. Every time he sees me, he says “I didn’t do that.” And I believe, I really believe, that when he tells me that, he means it. I think he is very insulted by it.
In their summit in Helsinki, Trump said that he didn’t see why there would be any reason for the Russian’s to meddle in our elections. Afterwards, probably from the beckoning of advisors understanding that his contradicting of intelligence agencies looked treasonous. Trump made a statement of clarification, where he subsequently looked like a man being held hostage, forced to read a message made by his hostages. “I accept our intelligence community’s conclusion that meddling took place,” said Trump in the statement. Now, I wouldn’t have believed it, because Trump is a narcissistic-liar, but that statement couldn’t have hurt him. Unfortunately, Trump was incapable of keeping it to that, and so, immediately contradicted himself, by saying “Could have been other people also. There’s a lot of people out there.”
Trump is an album placed on repeat. Instead of hearing Sturgill Simpson play over and over again, we’re forced to hear over and over again asshole Old Man Racist…..
The quote from the November 2017 summit in Vietnam came from the book 'Russian Roulette', Pg. 304-305…
