First It Was His Uncle, Now It's His Former Rabbi

Sometimes I’ll come someone a racist, like say, Donald Trump. And although I have what I think is clear and obvious. Nevertheless, when it’s someone who knows you that calls you out. That’s a whole new ball game. Like what had happened with Stephen Miller, when his Uncle called him a hypocrite.

Stephen’s Uncle:

Acting for so long in the theater of right-wing politics, Stephen and Trump may have become numb to the resultant human tragedy and blind to the hypocrisy of their policy decisions. After all, Stephen’s is not the only family with a chain immigration story in the Trump administration. Trump's grandfather is reported to have been a German migrant on the run from military conscription to a new life in the United States, and his mother fled the poverty of rural Scotland for the economic possibilities of New York City. (Trump’s in-laws just became citizens on the strength of his wife’s own citizenship.)

It’s not only his uncle that has had enough with Stephen, but so too his childhood Rabbi.

During his Rosh Hashanah sermon, Rabbi Neil Comess-Daniels said:

Dear Stephen Miller, I was once your rabbi. The actions that you now encourage President Trump to take make it obvious to me that you didn’t get my, or our, Jewish message. I understand that you were a major contributor to the ‘zero tolerance’ policy Attorney General Jeff Sessions initiated to punish and to deter desperate families from coming to the United States by separating children from their parents at the border. That notion is completely antithetical to everything I know about Judaism.

Comess-Daniels called the “zero tolerance” immigration policy “cruel,” while reminding Stephen that children are still separated from their families. “Honestly, Mr. Miller, you’ve set back the Jewish contribution to making the world spiritually whole through your arbitrary division of these desperate families,” said Comess-Daniels.

The rabbi was greeted with applause from his congregation when he concluded his sermon by pledging to fight against Miller’s agenda, and to clean up the mess he has made.

A mess it will be.. Having former classmates, an Uncle, and a former rabbi call you out? Goddamn!!!
