
Economists at the University of Massachusetts Amherst has concluded that the United States would lower it's costs for healthcare by ten percent if we had a national healthcare system.
The Daily Hampshire Gazette reports that according to the study's leader, a national healthcare system would:
- The country spending $3.3 trillion would be $2.9 trillion
- Eliminate redundant positions
- Pay cuts to providers, pay raises for emergency doctors and primary care physicians
- Free up doctors from doing bullshit work
- Businesses would pay less on employees
- Small tax increases would pay for it
