It looks like Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is looking to get a gig in corporate television media, which would make sense for a man who likes to see his face on television, and who won't be running for mayor again.
It sounds like he has been to New York City to have talks with top executives from CNN and MSNBC.
"While many Democrats and progressive activists in Chicago have cooled on the mayor," writes The Daily Beast, "he could be a perfect fit for the pugilistic cable news environment."
Describing that feeling towards Rahm Emanuel as "cooled," is being incredibly polite. It's more accurate to say that they loathe him.
Furthermore, "progressive activists," is actually African Americans, and with good reason.
As pointed out by the Chicago Tribune, Emanuel was not going to get the support from the African American, most likely due to the death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald, who was murdered by a Chicago policeman.
McDonald was shot by Officer Jason Van Dyke 16 times, and according to the Chicago Tribune, African Americans, "are convinced conspired for a year to keep the police dash camera video of the shooting hidden from the public."
More from the Chicago Tribune on African Americans detention of support for Emanuel (emphasis mine):
So on the eve of jury selection in the trial that will place Chicago center stage in the national debate over police brutality, the mayor who had been accused of covering up a police killing for political gain announced that he would not seek re-election.
I don't watch CNN or MSNBC, but I will source them enough that I shall declare: I don't want to turn either of them on, and ever see this fucking guys face on it.
Turning on MSNBC to see Bill Kristol or David From on is already disgusting enough.
Outlets like CNN and MSNBC shouldn't be adding pieces of shit to their payroll, but rather, getting rid of them.
