"At midnight, the federal government partially shut down for the third time during Trump’s presidency after Republicans failed in their most basic duty as lawmakers: funding government operations," writes the Huffington Post.
You can try and judge me as being partisan, for I am, but anyone who can critically think for themselves can see that the Republicans are to blame for the government shutdown. It's a Republican in the White House, and they control the House and the Senate.
This Huffington Post says it all:
But this hasn't stopped some Republican politicians from trying to flip the story, and deflect from their incompetence, such as Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has tried to do:
Instead of using money for the border, Republicans instead increased military spending, so if Lindsey Graham and fellow Republican officials cared about border security, like they say they do.
They could have had money go towards such funding, but instead they chose not to, because they didn't want to make a deal with Democrats regarding Dreamers which was discussed in our last blog.
Instead, they chose to cut revenue, and this attempt to deflect by Sen. Lindsay Graham is a pathetic display of hypocrisy, as this headline shows:
Furthermore, Republicans promised their tax policies would benefit American and the working class, but that has proven to be bullshit.
As Congressmen Adam Schiff has pointed out:
As these graphs from the Center for American Progress lay out, Trump's tax policies has only benefited the wealthy, and has seen an increase of our national debt:
Senator Graham's attempt at blaming Democrats for our spending problems is a pathetic example of Republican hypocrisy...
