With two years of Republicans controlling the White House, the Senate, and the House, and still Donald Trump wasn't able to get the funding for a wall at the southern border. Now that the House is controlled by the Democrats, and he likely wasn't going to get the votes from the Senate either. Donald Trump will be left with no other move than to capitulate, or to declare a bogus national emergency.
Trump is set to give an address in a few hours:
For a bit yesterday, news networks were debating whether they would air Trump's white nationalist propaganda address. This caused GOP Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel to do her own form of propaganda, claiming that Trump's address wasn't going to be shown because it's main stream media:
It turns out, news networks will broadcast Trump's address.
Not only is it frustrating that they would give in to right-wing faux-outrage, Vox has pointed out that the networks will show Trump's immigration address, but didn't do it for Obama's immigration. Not only is there that hypocrisy in of itself, but news outlets also showed George W. Bush's immigration address.
In 2014, the news networks chose to not air something that "they deemed" to be overt politics, to now show a different one that no one needs to deem. It is overtly political. So much so, that most surmise that it was Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh who got Donald Trump to shutdown the government over the border wall.
It doesn't matter that there is a treaty between the United States and Mexico that makes Trump's wall a fiction of xenophobes imagination, or the fact that 1,254 miles of the southern border comprised of the Rio Grande River.
The Right doesn't care about shit like treaties, they are a "destructionist" party, and facts won't stand in their way.
It's not only terrifying that the president of the United States is listening to radio pundits, and propaganda voice boxes, but that those voice boxes think that Trump "will fold" to their demands.
"Coulter has boasted about her influence over the president and has said she is confident that 'he will fold' to her demands," reports RightWingWatch.org (RWW). Ann Coulter called in last night to Breitbart News, where she "went through a series of points outlining what she would like to see from tonight’s address."
“Number one, most important point, is no amnesty. No amnesty for anyone,” Coulter said, as RWW has pointed out, she blames "the 1993 World Trade Center bombing on amnesty laws."
If Donald Trump brings up that, along with Heroine is killing "the working class blue-collar workers,” and that wages have stagnated due to immigration. One if safe to surmise once again that Donald Trump is listening to Ann Coulter, or that someone is relaying what she said to Trump. After all, this is the Breitbart presidency.
All of this lunacy of a bullshit emergency being coordinated between right-wing media and the presidency is terrifying in of itself, and something not seen since Woodrow Wilson and Walter Lippmann, but if Donald Trump were to declare a state of emergency, the Mad King could give him the ability to do more than just build a wall.

And as Elizabeth Goitein points out, if Trump declares a state of emergency, he could "with the flick of his pen, activate laws allowing him to shut down many kinds of electronic communications inside the United States or freeze Americans’ bank accounts."
So let us see what this fucking Mad King asshole has to say, be prepared for the worse, and pray to God that his address is such a disaster that even his sycophants have to acknowledge that it was so....
