During one of his bits, comedian George Carlin stated that the pro-life movement, is in fact, anti-woman.
In a past blog, I have discussed why I find the pro-life movement to be simply a hypocritical movement.
Consider the fact that for most of the pro-life movement, specifically on the right, hate the welfare system ( against universal: income, daycare, healthcare), guaranteed access to food and housing, laws and rules that protect the environment, and the "joke" I tell my friends which is when was the last time you saw a pro-lifer at an anti-war rally?
Now, you don't have to agree with my policies. You just can't claim to be pro-life, but not support these things, because you're not pro-life. You're just pro-fetus.
Someone I follow on Twitter, Bishop Talbert Swan, has called out the pro-life movement through a racial lens.
Swan, who is African American, called out the pro-life's hypocrisy considering the movements view towards the African American community.
I can't confirm if his statistics are correct, but nonetheless, I have heard personally people say that black women have kids to get welfare, but have yet to hear that said about white people.
My argument is not to say that people should say that about white women, but that people should stop saying that about black women.
Furthermore, government spending on welfare is not what an American should be worried about:
