The Republican Party is an oligarchic party, who does nothing but serve the interests of their oligarchs. It's not to say that the Democratic Party hasn't plaid a hand in turning America into a kleptocracy:
As noted by The Huffington Post, the Democratic Party is trying to hide that the fact that they're receiving donations from the fossil fuel industry by saying the party “support[s] fossil fuel workers.”
Having said that, the Republican Party takes the cake for corruption and doing everything in their power to continue to ratchet up economic inequality.
The Republicans want to end the estate tax, because it's a "tax" the average Republican might be tricked into thinking that it impacts them, but as Senator Bernie Sanders points out, the estate tax impacts virtually no one in America:
It speaks to the overall incompetence of the Democratic Party that one of America's two political parties is so overtly in the pockets for the rich, but somehow are still able to win pretending to be populists who care about the average citizen.
