Donald Trump tweeted calling Stormy Daniels "Horseface" it was Trump being Trump.
Meaning, being a petty child, and a misogynist:
Donald Trump is the embodiment of our corporate culture:
- He dehumanizes women
- Willingness to lie and cheat to get ahead (like the show survivor)
- Inflict revenge and pain on your enemies instead of turning your cheek
Or as George Monbiot wrote, Trump "mirrors our political culture," writing:
Trump personifies the traits promoted by the media and corporate worlds he affects to revile; the worlds that created him. He is the fetishisation of wealth, power and image in a nation where extrinsic values are championed throughout public discourse. His conspicuous consumption, self-amplification and towering (if fragile) ego are in tune with the dominant narratives of our age.
But this blog isn't about that. The thing that fascinates me the most about this tweet is that he totally undermines his wife's work.
Sure, it's been noted that Melania's "Be Best" initiative was an Obama administration initiative, but it's a worthy enough cause that I don't give a shit if she did or not.
It's also been noted that her "Best Best" is about her husband.
Here's one of the three pillars of her initiative, Social Media:
When children learn positive online behaviors early-on, social media can be used in productive ways and can effect positive change. Mrs. Trump believes that children should be both seen and heard, and it is our responsibility as adults to educate and reinforce to them that when they are using their voices—whether verbally or online—they must choose their words wisely and speak with respect and compassion.
I first asked myself, "does he know or care that he's undermining his wife's worthy cause as FLOTUS?" Then I thought, "well of course he doesn't care. He's literally fucked other women while they have been married."
Undercutting Melania's work, fucking other women, Donald Trump doesn't respect her.
Maybe he shouldn't? After all, that person is married to him.
His undercutting of Melania made me think of the time he left her and their son to go up the steps of Air Force One in the rain, while Trump hogged the umbrella:
He can't even do the most basic human thing possible, like hold an umbrella so your wife and child does not get rained on.
But he gets support from the religious right, because Donald Trump has "family values."
