Tariffs are a tax, and a tax paid by United States citizens. It's basic economic knowledge, so of course our dumb-shit president wouldn't know that:
Others on Twitter highlighted our president's stupidity:
Donald Trump should talk to an economist, because they may let Trump know that his trade war is paving the way for China and Japan to become closer economically.
In recent years, Japan and China have had shaky economic relations when back in 2012, Japan nationalized disputed islands in the East China Sea. The move caused China to temporarily close Japanese businesses, while also hurting Japan's economic investment in China, but Trump's trade war has both sides reconsidering their economic relations over their worries over Trump's trade policies.
These developments noted by the Guardian:
“The trade war with the US seems like it’s helping bring them together a bit,” said Kristin Vekasi, assistant professor of political science at the University of Maine, and an expert on Japan-China ties. “In that sense, they’re actually on the same side ... and if Japan leans away from the US because of decreased economic opportunities, there’s a potential for closer ties with China.”
So keep that in mind next time you hear Trump brag about the economy...
