While on the Fox News show The Five "I don't think Russia is our close friend or anything like that," would prove to be the last sane thing Tucker said in this segment.
"Of course they're trying to interfere in our affairs; they have for a long time. Many countries do, some more successfully than Russia, like Mexico, which is routinely interfering in our elections by packing our electorate." That is the exact kind of sentiment that white-supremacist view point Kansas politician Kris Kobach has, which is why he ran the bullshit committee to look into voter fraud.
According to Tucker, Mexicans are “packing our electorate,” and for Kris Kobach the Democrats are “replacing American voters” with “socialist” Hispanic voters.
While holding his own radio show, a caller told Kobach his feeling of a growing Hispanic demographic: “When one race or culture overwhelms another culture, they run them out or they kill them. And it’s a bigger issue than just being Democrats. And they know in numbers, once the numbers are so bad, they can pretty much do whatever they want to do.”
Kobach’s responded “What protects us in America from any kind of ethnic cleansing is the rule of law, of course.” Adding, “And the rule of law used to be unassailable, used to be taken for granted in America. And now, of course, we have a president who disregards the law when it suits his interests.”
Tucker Carlson might use more code words for his hate of America getting too brown for him, and he might hide it usually better than Kris Kobach, he definitely didn’t this time.
After his insane claim that Mexico is meddling in our elections, he found it “nuts” that people would make the country who interfered with our elections as a “primary issue of American political life.” Tucker also found it “kind of demented actually” to have Russia be high on your list of problems, and after having Russia as “No.115 on the list of real concerns” he did say “maybe I’m the demented one. Ya i would say so. After a week of causing problems with our NATO allies, Trump had a love fest with the man who interfered with our democratic process. To say that’s not anywhere near the top of your list, and to say Mexico is better at meddling in our elections, you described yourself best “demented.”
Aside from Tucker Carlson’s “demented” response to the most pathetic moment in Presidential history, Rand Paul felt like he didn’t want Tucker to be left all alone on an Island of demented-stupidity.
"Republicans that are making the criticism are either the pro-war Republicans like McCain and Graham or the anti-Trump ones like Sasse ... They are motivated by their persistent and consistent dislike of the president.”-Rand
John McCain and Lindsey Graham are pro-war, but you voted to increase military spending Rand Paul. To use their pro-war beliefs is highly disingenuous coming from you, and someone like myself who is anti-war, saw Trump’s summit with Putin to be utterly disgraceful. Furthermore, the summit is coming off the heels of Trump’s disasters with the UK and NATO. Eastern European countries like Estonia have to wonder how long their independence is going to last. You can continue doing your pretend anti-big government schtick, but Trump’s decisions could have consequences for countries who wouldn’t be able to stop Russia with out NATO allies.
“It’s gotten so ridiculous that someone has to stand up and say we should try to engage even our adversaries and open up our lines of communication.” No one is arguing against this Rand. People are arguing against Donald Trump believing a tyrant who has and will meddle in our elections, over American intelligence.
“We won’t get anywhere on it if we just say we want ... to put more sanctions on them and tomorrow they’ll surrender and do what we want.”
Their are media members and politicians who want more than they will ever get from Russia, but any American should not want their President having a negotiation mindset like this:
“So I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that president Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today. And what he did is an incredible offer. He offered to have the people working on the case come and work with their investigators, with respect to the 12 people. I think that’s an incredible offer. Okay thank you.”
It’s not just hawks, or neocon’s, or Trump haters, who were outraged. Sure, people like myself or a John McCain were mad and embarrassed by Trump’s performance, because it was maddening and embarrassing. Never has a President chosen another country over his own, and on top of it, one in which has meddled in our elections. Secondly, it was embarrassing to see a President act like a total bitch before the world.
Rand Paul and Tucker Carlson’s response to the summit isn’t overly shocking. Rand Paul is a full of shit politician who uses his dad’s ideology, while being nothing close to being his Dad, and Tucker Carlson is one of America’s voices for Oligarchy and bigotry….
